DHR Health Institute for
Research and Development

DHR Health Institute for Research and Development is an independent nonprofit entity organized under Federal IRS code 501(c)3. With over 160 clinical trials and a staff of over 30 full-time professionals, it is the largest and most comprehensive clinical research enterprise in South Texas. DHR Health Institute for Research and Development provides oversight of research at DHR Health, Renaissance Medical Foundation, and the Starr County Memorial Hospital.
The research program in Trauma is led by a core team in the Center of Excellence for Trauma Research in the Border Region (CETRBR) which is housed in the DHR Health Institute for Research and Development. CETRBR is managed by a Scientific Director who is experienced in the development of grants, manuscripts, abstracts, and posters for the dissemination of new knowledge. Supporting the Scientific Director are doctorally prepared scientists, clinical coordinators, data analysts, and data curators.
